Establishment history of Ulul Albab Tahfiz Model
BACKGROUND
Based on Wave 1 of the Malaysian Education Development Plan
(PPPM) 2013 – 2025, the Malaysian Ministry of Education is committed to
providing high quality education to equip students with relevant knowledge and
skills to succeed in a strong Islamic job market. On 7 December 2013, the
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education of Malaysia, YAB Tan Sri Dato'
Haji Muhyiddin b. Haji Mohd Yassin has announced that the Ulul al-Bab Islamic
Education Model will be extended to the whole country from 2014.
The idea originated by the Minister of Education Malaysia
II, Datuk Seri Idris b. This initiative was officially implemented at SMK Agama
Kuala Lumpur starting on 16 January 2014 with the first recruitment of 150
students and 15 teachers. Tahfiz Model Ulul al-Bab (TMUA) is a combination of
the National Curriculum, Curriculum Berseda Tahfiz (KBT) and Ulul al-Bab
Program based on Quranic, Encyclopedic and Ijtihadik approaches.
DIRECTION
TMUA (Tahfiz Model Ulul al-Bab) is an added value to the
Religious Education system implemented in KPM schools. The students born from
this system are expected to meet the needs of the professional workforce who
have a strong religious conviction.
OBJECTIVE
TMUA is implemented to achieve the objective of creating human capital that;
1. Memorize the 30 constituents of the Qur'an
2. Professionals who have a solid religious foundation based
on al-Quran and al-Sunnah
3. Skilled, authoritative and leadership
4. Optimizing the ability to think high-level, creative and
innovative; and
5. Can establish a relationship with Allah s.w.t, fellow
human beings and preserve oneself with natural events based on al-Quran and
al-Sunnah
TMUA (Tahfiz Model Ulul al-Bab) is an added value to the
Religious Education system implemented in KPM schools. The students born from
this system are expected to meet the needs of the professional workforce who
have a strong religious conviction.
Quranic Approach
Pupils memorize the 30 constituents of the Quran and
understand the content based on the concept of Read, Remember, Understand,
Think, Act and Share (BIFFAS). Students will study and follow the learning
points of Hifz al-Quran and Maharat al-Quran.
Ensyclopedic Approach
Provide basic
methods for students to master various disciplines of science and language, be
highly skilled and able to act as a reference expert in the future.
Ijtihadik Approach
Providing students who are able to provide insights in
solving problems, maximizing the ability to think high-level, creative and
innovative. The approach of the three elements will be implemented in an
integrated manner through integration between curriculum and co-curriculum.
